Job Description
Qualification & Competencies:
The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferably Master’s degree. The candidate should have an understanding of the organization’s business with in-depth knowledge of organization’s key processes and well versed with ISO 14001, US EPA, NFPA & API requirements. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal, communication and computational skills.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry specialized in onshore major project Environment deliverables. Conducted IEE / EIA studies in any brown / green field projects. Conversant with Local, National & International HSE Regulations, relevant Codes & Standards.
Responsibilities:
• Manage Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Studies of Projects from inception till end i.e. review of Scope of work, Pre-qualification criteria till the selection of EIA Contractor and EIA NOC attainment.
• Manage specific requirements in the EIA with respect to foreign funding i.e. IFC Performance Standards, Local Regulations etc.
• Manage all requisite activities of an EIA including Coordination, Assessments, Environmental Testing, Public Consultation, Data Gathering etc. by ensuring liaison with the EIA Contractor.
• Development of Aspect / Impact Register and its implementation in Projects.
• Participate in ENVID workshops and shall incorporate the environmental risks in Project overall risk register.
• Participate in Project Risk Workshops and shall be able to identify environmental risks in project (in all project phases). Shall developed environmental objectives and ensures their compliance.
• Sound knowledge of Carbon footprints and Net Zero Emissions and its calculation and should be able to calculate GHG emissions (CO2, Sox, NOx, VOC, Particulate emissions).
• Perform environmental monitoring (Emissions, Waste, Effluent, Noise) and should have hands on experience of Air Dispersion Modelling.
• Review noise data of equipment and introduce suitable noise control technology and should be able to review emission controls, minimize these to ALARP and shall ensure compliance with legal / EPA requirements.
• Adequate knowledge of effluent treatment technology and scientific techniques of waste minimization.
• Prepare monthly environmental monitoring reports once the construction activity started and manage to conduct Environmental Audits.
• Ensure identification and consideration of potential contaminant sources.
